FAIR PLAY

THE GM

GM (Games Master) decisions are final and are made in the best interests of the majority of players and the smooth and fair running of the game concerned. If you don't agree with a decision your choices are to put up with it, or stop playing. Profit margins on play-by-mail games are very tight and we won't waste time on customers who want to engage in arguments. If you do so you will simply be ejected from any games you're playing and not allowed to rejoin.

MULTIPLE POSITIONS

If you play two or more positions they must be in different games. If you enter the same game twice then you will be ejected from all your games and not allowed to rejoin. If a GM thinks one player position in a game is being run in the favour of another (rather than in its own interest) then action will be taken.

CARTELS

The rules of all our sports games are designed to make it difficult for teams to operate cartels (fixed alliances between teams, cross-game alliances, match-fixing etc) and we will intervene in games if we think it is necessary to provide other players with a fair competition. This will normally involve ejecting from the game all the players who are thought to be involved.

There are some games where players are encouraged to join in groups and play in fixed alliances, but in most games where alliances are appropriate the other players will not usually tolerate pre-formed cartels (in these games it's up to them to form their own groups and eliminate anyone they object to).

Note: The paragraphs above may look a bit scary, but in our games these things happen rarely because we've taken the trouble to design them carefully, and because we do take action when it's necessary. If you want to play the game properly then you can rely on us to ensure that you are able to do so.

GROUP PLAY

If you've got a group of friends who want to play together then the best thing to do is declare yourselves and have a game to yourselves. If you haven't got enough players to fill a game of your own then appeal for more to join you, because there are other people who like that sort of game and will be happy to be in the same game.

If you want to be able to swap ideas, tactics and experience with your friends then it's probably better to join different games so that you can talk to each other without giving away vital information to your opponents.
